In the street I met a certain high-ranking official (Troman) to whom I was related, but who previously had raised his hat quite sparingly and cautiously when I had greeted him most humbly; he now came straight across the street, hurrying up to me to say: ‘welcome to the city; have you been here long? you know, surely, that we are relatives? I charge you, as a duty of conscience, to visit my house.’
På gatan mötte mig en viss Troman, med hvilken jag var beslägtad, men hvilken tillförne ganska sparsamt och försigtigt lyftat på hatten, då jag ödmjukast hälsat; denne kom nu tvärt öfver gatan brådskande in på mig för att säga ett: ”välkommen till staden; har du varit här länge? du vet väl att vi äro slägtingar?
