When this ended, and at the very moment the curtain fell, a royal page came to me saying: The King commands that you procure your Commanding Officer’s testimonial concerning your person, and that, when you obtain it, you present yourself with it here at Gripsholm at once, which indeed occurred three weeks thereafter.
När detta slöts, och i detsamma rideaun föll, kom en lifpage till mig sägande: Konungen befaller, att ni anskaffar eder Chefs vittnesbörd om eder person, samt att, enär ni detsamma erhåller, dermed genast infinner er här på Gripsholm, hvilket jemväl inträffade 3:ne veckor derefter.

I have now entirely forgotten whether at this second visit I was presented to the King, just as I do not recall at which table I dined; but all the more vividly have I preserved in memory that in the afternoon, near twilight, a Royal servant came to me and declared it to be the King’s will that I should present myself in the Royal circle that same evening.
Alldeles har jag nu mera förgätit, huruvida jag vid detta andra besöket blef föreställd Konungen, äfvensom jag ej påminner mig vid hvilken taffel jag spisade; men desto lifligare har jag i minnet bevarat, att på eftermiddagen, nära skymningen, kom en Kongl. domestik till mig och förkunnade Konungens vilja vara, det jag samma afton skulle infinna mig i den Kongl. cerclen.
