I was well provided with documents and certificates concerning my person, which were translated into French, and with them in my pocket I walked up into the Palace and presented myself to the chamberlain of the then Crown Prince (now the King), who did not dare announce me for an audience but received my papers, promising to forward them for presentation before His Royal Highness and to let me know the result in a few days.
Jag var väl försedd med handlingar och certificater angående min person, hvilka blefvo öfversatte på Franska språket, och med dem på fickan vandrade jag upp i Slottet, anmälde mig för Kammarherren hos dåvarande Kronprinsen (nu Konungen), hvilken ej vågade anmäla mig till audiens, men emottog mina papper, under löfte att befordra dem till föredragning inför Hans Kongl. Höghet samt att om några dagar låta mig veta resultatet.
